Why use Riser Cards for Mining?


Mining has become incredibly popular in the last year or so. With the rise of Bitcoin and other minihg the market for mining hardware has also become very popular! Cryptocurrency mining is a really fun way to make some extra cash and enjoy using your computer hardware in a new and different way. Speaking of different, let’s talk about PCIe risers. Every single time I show someone my mining rig, you can just about be sure one if their first questions is going to be “What are those USB riser cards??”

The GPU vs the CPU



When mining cryptocurrency on a PC 99% of the work is performed by graphics cards (the GPU), rather than on your typical processor (the CPU). The CPU is a general purpose processor. 7. Use UEFI mode to install your OS

4. Change “Initial Display Output” setting from “PCIe 1 Slot" to “IGFX” (Peripherals)
